About Myself
Let me introduce myself. My name is "David White," but everybody calls me "DJ." It's got a nice
ring to it wouldn't you say? And I'm not the kind of "DJ" that be in the back of clubs, parties, etc. with headphones on spinning vinyl records! Anyway, I was born and raised in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. I was born on September 1st in 1991, so I am currently 22 years old. I am an Image Manipulator; someone who does Image Manipulations. I was first introduced to it when I attended ITT Tech in Norfolk, Virginia in September of 2009. I was barely 18 at the time. But it wasn't until 2011 that I actually had an interest in it. I attended ITT Tech from September of 2009 to September of 2012.
How I get my pictures for the examples of my work is at a website called "morgueFile." The reason I don't use Google for pictures is because all of the pictures on Google "may be subject to copyright," and it can't be used for commercial use on my website. But all of the pictures on morgueFile are not "subject to copyright" and can be used for commercial use on my website, and that is why I use morgueFile. Now I must say that morgueFile does have its flaws, sometimes it is very hard to find the kind of pictures I be looking for, and sometimes they don't even have them, and I would end up having to just work with the pictures they do have instead. So some of the pictures I have up here, I was only half satisfied in finding them.
The program that I use to manipulate people's images is a photo editing program called "GIMP." GIMP is very similar to the photo editing program called "Photoshop." However, there are some differences between GIMP and Photoshop. The most noticeable difference between the two is that GIMP is free to use and Photoshop is not free to use. When I was at ITT Tech, the only photo editing program they had was Photoshop. So I was pretty used to Photoshop and not GIMP at the time. When I first found out about GIMP and how it was free to use compared to Photoshop, I was immediately determined to get used to GIMP, being the very cheap guy that I am...
